RM5 6th Series Prefix NK0 one of the rare Malaysian banknotes

One of the banknotes that many hardcore collector wish to have in their collection is the Malaysian RM5 Prefix NK0 signed by the then Governor Jaffar Hussein. I have seen a piece in UNC going for RM1000 a piece. The reason for this is that the NK0 is a crossover note to the latter NK which carries a silver security line. I acquired these 2 piece vf condition notes recently and will remained in my collection for the time being. RM5 NK0 2 piece running number vf condition So another one on my list will be scratch: >>My next year 2012 resolution is to have these notes: 1. RM100 Sa-ratus 2. RM100 4th 3. 50 cents milled edge 5. RM50 goldline 6. RM10 Kerbau - UNscratch due the notes sold in MARCH 2012 7. RM500 complete set 8. RM1 AAH CR  9. RM2 ZB 10. RM5 NK0 Cheers and happy hunting!

Making money online with a coin and banknotes blog? Is it possible?

One of my friend ask me what is the purpose of maintaining and posting this "My coin and Banknotes Collection" blog? I always answer them that I post what is in my collection for the purpose of own satisfaction rather than showing off to others. It is like one big catalog for me to check which Item that I once had and the one that II just recently acquired. And the advertisement that you saw in this blog will not be a factor in making me blog more often in order to make money. Making money online through a banknote and coin collection blog can be done if your audience is a worldwide for example a friend of mine blog : Mr. Lunaticg's Blog . My blog as at 27/3/2012 Everything is possible if you are really serious into it and put in a good effort in attracting visitors to your blog. Of course a little bit knowledge of SEO(Search engine Optimization) will come in handy in this topic. Untill then Cheers.

RM1 First Series A/1 992314 - One one collection

I added RM1 A/1 to my one-one collection recently. I am some what amazed by the price of this note. Even though this note is only Almost UNC at best, the price is more than RM300 already. I heard people are willing to pay RM600 for a UNC piece nowadays. As usual the the price will go up when there is demand from collectors. And when demand is higher than the notes availability then the price will sky rocket.. RM1 First Series A/1 992314 So that leaves me B/1, D/1, E/1, F/1 and Q/1 and of course Z/1 to complete my collection.  Cheers

50 cent 1995 Malaysian coin - Keydate!

One of the scarce coin in the Malaysian Bunga Raya series is the 50 cent 1995. I have based on my experience change 1K of coins from a bank and not finding a piece of this keydate coin. Only about 1,650,423 was minted back in 1995.   At the moment I only have 5 in my humble collection and all of it is in VF condition. Hopefully to find more in the future. Cheers

1 cent 1970 coin

One of the more scarce coin in Malaysian Parliament series is the 1 cent 1970. For your information the 1 cent coins was demonized in 2007 because of the cost of making a single coin exceed the face value that it carries. 1 cent 1970 collection The mintage for 1 cent 1970 is 2,535,000 and was mint in Hamburg Mint, Germany. I only have 5 piece of these coin in my collection and all of them are in vf condition only. Cheers

Second RM2 ZB added to my collection

I added a second RM2 ZB Ahmad Don replacement note for a couple hundred ringgit recently. Although this is nothing to gloat about since it is only in Good Fine(GF) condition, it is always good to add some rare Malaysian Banknotes in my collection.  Hopefully I can get a better one in the future. Cheers.

Malaysian Coin Card collection

I just recently started to buy Malaysian coin cards. The first one is the Malaysia 50th Anniversary (1961-2011) WWF Coin Card and the latest one is the 2002 Malaysia 10th Men's Hockey World Cup coin card. The latter is said to be a bit rare and can fetch up to RM120 in the market. Coin card is interesting because you can read the history of the events on the card and I recommend this to new collectors who are just beginning this hobby. My humble Malaysia coin card collection Hopefully can add more in the future if the price is right. Cheers

RM2 ZB the most rare Malaysian RM2 notes

One of the most rare replacement in the Malaysian Banknotes is none other than RM2 ZB, Of course there is other rare replacement e.g RM20 UZ, RM50 ZA Ali Abul Side signature but seeing one of these RM2 ZB in UNC condition is very rare. So for me getting one in Good Fine (GF) condition is enough since the price is expensive. Rm2 ZB GF condition So another one on my list will be scratch: >>My next year 2012 resolution is to have these notes: 1. RM100 Sa-ratus 2. RM100 4th 3. 50 cents milled edge 5. RM50 goldline 6. RM10 Kerbau 7. RM500 complete set 8. RM1 AAH CR  9. RM2 ZB 10. RM5 NK0 (added 3/2/2012) Cheers.

RM1 Ali Abul Hassan CR aka "Aishah Sign"

I bought one piece of RM1 CR Ali Abul Hassan signed note when I was in KL recently. Although the condition is only vf, it brings a good satisfaction when getting a note that you want. I have purchased these type of note and resell it at a higher value in the past but I think this one will remain in my album for quite sometime now. Some people called this note the " Aishah " note because of the signature but it is actually signed by our then Bank Nnegara Governor Tan Sri Ali Abul Hassan. RM1 CR Prefix vf condition The obverse side: RM1 CR 7226456 So another one on my list will be scratch: >>My next year 2012 resolution is to have these notes: 1. RM100 Sa-ratus 2. RM100 4th 3. 50 cents milled edge 5. RM50 goldline 6. RM10 Kerbau 7. RM500 complete set 8. RM1 AAH CR  9. RM2 ZB Cheers

One - one collection

One of the notes that I love to collect is the one that I called "One-One" collection. The notes that are in this category are notes that contained the first number prefix e.g A/1, B/1 and so on. C/1 First Series RM1 UNC P/1 Fourth Series RM1 UNC  Hopefully I can add the A/1 and Z/1 in the future. Cheers.

RM5 First / Last Prefix B19-B30 4th series

I completed my first, RM5 First- Last prefix pair RM5 4th series signed by Aziz Taha just recently. The condition is UNC, UNC. very fortunate to get it for a reasonable price. RM5 First Last Prefix B19 - B30 UNC As usual the signature of Aziz Taha commands a higher price than the RM5 3rd series. They are so many Pak Aziz fans out there. :) Reverse side of the first - last pair Note: The first prefix is B19 and not B18 as stated in one of the catalog book. Unless on show me the B18 picture. Cheers.

RM50 ZETI ZC Replacement Note

I found this Replacement note while on my way to bank in my car's monthly installment this evening. But being a numismatic freak I decided to hold on to this note and change it with another note that I withdraw from the ATM. RM50 Zeti ZC Replacement Note AUNC with counting mark So, at the moment I got RM50 ZA,ZB and ZC only. Hopefully will get more from this favourite ATM spot. Cheers.

Crossover No#2 - RM2 Cross Over Prefix, 8th,9th DF, DF

This is most probably the easiest of crossover to be completed because of the easy availabilty of these notes. Although the price of this notes can range from RM20 - RM35 in UNC condition, I just recently completed this crossover pair. The pair that I am talking about is RM2 Ahmad Don Prefix DF that crosses over to the RM2 Ali Abul Hassan Side Prefix DF. Easily speaking for newbies out there is that it carries the same prefix but with different Governor Signature. This is the reverse side: The other crossover in this denomition is: RM2 Cross Over Prefix, 9th-10th DJ, DJ RM2 Cross Over Prefix, 8th,9th DF, DF Cheers and happy collecting!

Crossover No#1 - RM5 6th Series CROSSOVER Prefix NR/NR

I completed my first Crossover yesterday when I found this NR Prefix RM5 6th series while going hunting with my friend Paul Simbaku. RM5 Crossover NR What amazed me is finding one with the cross is harder than finding the one without the cross at the pole. I even got one NR without cross AU condition for RM12 only. And as you can see from the reverse side, the top one is with cross at pole and the bottom one is without the cross at pole. I hope I will complete other crossover starting with RM2 and RM5. Notes: The other crossover in RM5 : RM5 6th Series CROSS-OVER Prefix (NK/NK) RM5 6th,7th Series CROSS-OVER Prefix (PW/PW) RM5 6th Series CROSS-OVER Prefix (NR/NR) Cheers!

Malaysian RM100 1st to 4th series complete set

I completed my RM100 collection last month when I added the RM100 1st and 4th notes.   Although the condition is at best VF (very fine) but I am proud to be able to complete it because to find the RM100 1st and 4th series are getting tougher by the day. Cheers.

RM100 4th Aziz Taha VF hunted

I finally got my hands on this last missing piece for my RM100 Malaysian Banknotes collection from a fellow friend. The price is reasonable for a note in VF condition. But it is more expensive than the RM100 Sa-ratus which I posted earlier. RM100 4th Aziz Taha vf condition So another one on my list will be scratch: >>My next year 2012 resolution is to have these notes: 1. RM100 Sa-ratus 2. RM100 4th 3. 50 cents milled edge 5. RM50 goldline 6. RM10 Kerbau 7. RM500 complete set 8. RM1 AAH CR  9. RM2 ZB Cheers.

RM100 1st Series Sa-ratus VF

I got hold of a piece of RM100 1st Series Sa-ratus for just a couple hundred over RM1k. I thought it was a good deal since it is not easy to find one nowadays. RM100 1st Series So another one on my list will be scratch: >>My next year 2012 resolution is to have these notes: 1. RM100 Sa-ratus 2. RM100 4th 3. 50 cents milled edge 5. RM50 goldline 6. RM10 Kerbau 7. RM500 complete set 8. RM1 AAH CR

And to celebrate CNY this year, I have added the RM50 Goldline 50th Merdeka Commemorative Note:     I am glad I got the AA 000 **** piece which command a higher price than AA 00*****. So another one on my list will be scratch: >>My next year 2012 resolution is to have these notes: 1. RM100 Sa-ratus 2. RM100 4th 3. 50 cents milled edge 5. RM50 goldline 6. RM10 Kerbau 7.
