A simple guide to Collecting Malaysian Coin 1967-2011

I was asked by a friend of mine that is beginning to take an interest in collecting Malaysian coins on which coin is worth more than the others. So here is what I told him to look for:

1971 10 cent coin UNC

1 cent 1970 (Mintage: 2.3 Million)
5 cent 1971
5 cent 1977
10 cent 1971 (Mintage: 32K, UNC/BU is around RM240-RM290)
10 cent 1994
10 cent 2003
20 cent 1970 (Mintage: 1.0 Million)
20 cent 1971 (Mintage: 9.9 Million)
20 cent 1994 (Mintage: 2.6 Million)
50 cent 1967
50 cent 1968
50 cent 1969 (Mintage: 2.0 Million)
50 cent 1995 (Mintage: 1.6 Million)

If you have or found any of these coins, it is worth keeping it. Maybe it is time for you to break that old piggy bank and start searching! Good luck. Maybe you can find a circulated 1971 10 cent just like me.
