50 cent 1995 Malaysian coin - Keydate!

One of the scarce coin in the Malaysian Bunga Raya series is the 50 cent 1995. I have based on my experience change 1K of coins from a bank and not finding a piece of this keydate coin. Only about 1,650,423 was minted back in 1995.

 
At the moment I only have 5 in my humble collection and all of it is in VF condition.

Hopefully to find more in the future.

Malaysia 50 cent/Sen 1979 Extra Dot coin found

Hai, Selamat berpuasa and happy holidays. This type of coin is something that I am very happy to find because of the year 1979( the year that I was born) and also because it doesn't cost a thing. I found it when receiving my change from Giant Superstore.

The dot is so small it can be seen from the pictures above but it is there i am sure. Some seller are selling it for RM15, RM20, RM30 and some are even selling RM80 for an UNC piece. So to be able to found one is just nice. :)

50 cent 1967 milled edge @ without security edge

When I was younger, much younger. I remember seeing this coin plenty of times but did not think for a moment to keep it because I thought the one with the security edge is the one that have a higher value. If only we can go back to the past and keep it all.

So buying this coin back after almost 10-15 years now with the price hovering around a perodua viva's monthly ccm is unthinkable to most person. But I have decided to 'invest' in this coin and bought it yesterday.

Now this coin become the third item that I love most, the list being:

1. RM1 Ali Abul Hassan CR banknote
2. 1971 10 cent
3. 1967 50 cent milled edge

Minor error on 50 cent coin

found this two minor error coin in my collection yesterday. The bottom of the coin got some double strike and it is shifted a bit to the top. Actually I don't know what is this error called, maybe someone can help me.

This is most probably not that rare. Just a bit different from normal 50 cents coin.

50 cent year 1988 extra dot

I am happy today because I managed to get my hands on the 1988 50cents Extra dot on the parliment building coin.

I changed RM100 into 50cents coin in the morning from a nearby bank and luckily got the coin. Just being lucky maybe. But not a single 1967 1968 1969 coins with security line. I also managed to find the 1993 50 cents to be added to my 50cents collection. Now only need the 1995 to complete it. Hopefully next time will much luckier.

The coin's condition is also good but not nearly an UNC. But I am still satisfied.

My 50 cents Malaysian coin collection

I personally like 50cents. My 50 cents collection from the year 1967 till 1988 is completed. In fact I managed to put together 3 sets of this parliment series coins. Note: 1970, 1972, 1974, 1975, 1976 no mintage of this kind if not mistaken.

But the 50 cents collection from the year 1989 till 2010 is not finish yet, not even the first set. The missing year are 1993(mintage:7,657,991) and 1995(mintage: only1,650,423). Can anyone of you guys can sell me this two coins for cheap? Haha it is harder to find newer coins than the older one. Isn't ironic?

Although my coins are not UNC except for some, most of it is EF or fine at the best; I am still proud to have 3 sets of the parliment type coins without buying any of it.
Other note:

My 10 cents first set parliment collection is missing the 1971 rare coin.
My 20 cents first set parliment collection is missing the 1978 coin.
My 50 cents first set bunga raya collection is missing the 1993 and 1995 coin.
My RM1 silver coin is missing the 1980, 82, 84 and 85 coin.

Just making a checklist for it.
